Many Players Around Bundesliga are Taking Pay Cuts During the Coronavirus Hiatus to Benefit Their Clubs

As reported by the BBC, Borussia Monchengladbach was the first club in Bundesliga where the players decided to forgo portions of their wages to ensure that club employees were taken care of during the league's forced hiatus. Other Bundesliga players like Robert Lewandowski are also donating directly to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke celebrated the forgoing of wages and donations around Bundesliga saying "This is a valuable sign of solidarity."
