Moment / In the quarterfinals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup, Argentina's Diego Maradona scored by knocking the ball in with his hand, giving Argentina a 1-0 lead over England. The referee didn't call a penalty and the goal stood. Four minutes later, Maradona scored another goal, dribbling past nearly the entire English squad to knock in what's now commonly known as the "Goal of the Century."

Impact / Two of the most famous goals in soccer history, the "Hand of God" and the "Goal of the Century" further intensified the rivalry between Argentina and England. Argentina would go on to win the '86 World Cup, and Maradona would finish his career regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
