Moment / In Game 6 of the 1980 NBA Finals, Magic Johnson, then a rookie point guard, started at center in place of an injured Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, compiling a stat line of 42 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers.
Impact / Magic was named Finals MVP and established himself as one of the most versatile players in NBA history. He would go on to win four more championships, all with the Lakers.
