From a boxer’s ability to absorb and deliver blows, to the agile and acrobatic movements of a gymnast, physical fitness is measured in distinct ways from sport to sport. But what happens when you level the playing field?
With insight from the panel of trainers, strength and conditioning coaches and performance experts, we set out to do the near impossible: identify the top 50 fittest men and women across all sports right now. Athletes were considered based on performances in the last 12 months, demands and risks of their respective sports, training regimens, longevity and physical benchmarks, including: speed, strength, endurance, agility, flexibility and power.
