Talking sports doesn't feel right at this moment in time, as I am absolutely heartbroken at the state of the country right now. After George Floyd was brutally killed by a police officer, tensions are at an all-time high. And instead of attempting to diffuse the situation, the president of the United States is only instigating it. Today I called for Americans to uphold the values the country is supposed to represent so that hopefully we can get to the place of unity so many calls for.

Robin Lundberg: I'd feel like an absolute clown if I were to talk about sports right now, you know, first of all, there are no sports. Second of all, the country is being torn apart.

And I know a lot of people are demanding statements from people and organizations. Save your statement. I don't want to hear it, if you don't believe it. I don't want to hear any empty statements. You know, here's my statement. We need leadership right now because the man who's supposed to be the leader of this country, he's not a leader, he's an instigator.

For everybody who's out there and says they support peaceful protests, do you support the president of the United States releasing tear gas on peaceful protesters? Do you support him calling them sons of b------ a few years ago when they were peacefully exercising their constitutional rights? Do you support that?

If you love the flag so much, why don't you uphold the values the country is supposed to stand for? Freedom, liberty, and justice for all. Since you like saying "all lives matter" so much. And democracy. How about that?

My black friends out there. I know you're going through a lot of pain. And I don't know what to say except for I'm sorry. And my message to everybody out there on the ground, more power to you, because you're actually out there going and taking action. All I'm doing is talking. All I'm doing is talking. I mean, that's what I do for a living. So it's the best way I think I can use my voice.

And I'm not going to tell anybody out there what to do. I'm not going to tell anybody out there how to feel right now. I would just say, you know, if you're destroying stuff, I get it. And I know a lot of the people out there destroying stuff aren't the people who were there to protest this injustice in the first place. But if you're just doing it out of frustration, you're giving these bad-faith actors something to work with, something to use against you, something to, you know, weaponize, both figuratively and maybe literally.

I'm torn apart right now. You know, I don't know what else to say. I'm here to help as much as I possibly can.

I wanted to say something. And I wanted it to come from the heart. I know everybody has been in lockdown, too. Right? And you've been trapped. And you're just now getting out. And this is what you're getting out to? But when people say we need to come together, we need unity, we need to join in love. You know, I agree with that sentiment. But you have to practice what you preach.

So, if you're just out there saying that as, you know, a thing to say, a platitude to make all this go away, it's not going to work. You have to really feel, you have to look yourself in the mirror and say, do I care about this? Do I care about this country? Do I care about black lives in this country? Do I care about my fellow Americans?

And I'm willing to fight for that. No. That's love. That's love.
