It's not every day that fashion and sports collide in such an epic way, but leave it to SI to do it up right.
Debuting for the first time ever, the Sports Illustrated Fashionable 50 list is a roundup of the most stylish athletes in sports. From Dwayne Wade to Von Miller, and Serena Williams to Alex Morgan, our panel of fashion experts including three gorgeous Swimsuit models, sifted through hundreds of athletes to find the most stylish in the business.
Athletes were evaluated for more than what they wear, but how they wear it, where they wear it, why they wear it; designer collaborations, attendance at fashion shows, social media presence, investment in fashion, endorsements and other partnerships were all considered and taken into account when narrowing down the cut-throat list.
And while Victor Cruz may have claimed the title of Fashionable 50 MVP, we'd like to think it's Nina Agdal, Chanel Iman and Kate Bock—three of our expert panelists—who are the real MVPs here. Need a little proof? We enlisted the help of Nina to breakdown some of Russel Westbrook's craziest looks, and her puzzled responses couldn't be more familiar unless we were answering the question ourselves.
That's the thing—fashion isn't about fitting in. Fashion is about standing out, and our inaugural Fashionable 50 are notorious for shining as much off the court as they do on.
Tonight, editors and honorees will come together to celebrate the sports and style collaboration at a star-studded event in NYC. Check out the full list on SI.com, and be sure to pick up the new issue of Sports Illustrated, on newsstands tomorrow, April 13.
