Through Under Armour’s MyFitnessPal mobile app, users can now find and book nearby fitness classes, a seamless integration between the athletic performance brand and Mindbody, a cloud-based business management software company.
The free app, which Under Armour acquired for $475 million May, allows users to also pay for fitness classes at thousands of studios across the United States, from martial arts and yoga to boxing and indoor cycling.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Under Armour, a company that shares our passion for positively impacting the wellness of the world,” said Rick Stollmeyer, Mindbody CEO and co-founder in a statement. “Together, we’re able to connect more people with fitness options in their communities and beyond, ultimately helping them achieve healthier, happier lives.”
San Luis Obispo, California-based Mindbody will assist fitness enthusiasts utilizing the MyFitnessPal app in not only planning their workout but also with tracking their nutrition and weight information. With the integration, studios within the Mindbody network will also have a better chance at filling their classes and impacting a larger audience
“This collaboration with Mindbody is another example of how we are exploring new ways to utilize data to bring value to our growing community,” Under Armour CDO Mike Lee said in a statement. “We’ve learned through our combined network of more than 180 million members that people want an easy way to find and book fitness classes to ultimately improve performance. This new feature will serve the vast studio network of Mindbody as well as the millions of athletes who continue to harness MyFitnessPal to meet their goals and perform at their best.”
