SI Vault podcast host Ted Keith sits down with Friday Night Lights author Buzz Bissinger to discuss the excerpt of his book Friday Night Lights, 25th Anniversary Edition: A Town, a Team, and a Dream in the August 3, 2015, issue of Sports Illustrated. Bissinger returned to the Lone Star State to see the six boys, now men, who were the heart of the most celebrated sports book of our era. Twenty-five years have passed—or have they? What happens when we revisit the people and places that changed us forever? Bissinger discusses the impact the book had on him in relation to Odessa, Texas, and where the idea for the book originally came from. Keith also reads an excerpt from the original book from 25 years ago.
