Top players as Terracotta Warriors

Tuesday October 11th, 2011

What do you do when a tournament has been kind enough to commission a Terracotta Warrior fashioned in your likeness, only to reveal statues that make you wonder if the sculptor even knew what you looked like? Well, if you're a top ATP player -- such as Andy Murray, who, as shown in the first photo above, unveiled his figure at the Shanghai Masters on Tuesday -- you say "Xie Xie," smile awkwardly for the cameras and marvel at how much these statues bear absolutely no resemblance to you. In a related but irrelevant question, what's more awkward: staring at a statue that looks exactly like you or one that looks nothing like you? I'm stumped.
