Novak Djokovic defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 12-10 in the fourth round of the Australian Open on Sunday. The Twitter reaction came fast and furious during the five-hour match, as fellow players, journalists and other tennis types weighed in on the drama in real time.

Wawrinka came out of the gates on fire, riding five consecutive service breaks to a 6-1, 4-1 lead. The upset alert was on.

Wawrinka served for the second set at 5-2, but Djokovic roared back to win five straight games and steal the set 7-5. The assumption was that Wawrinka would fade ...

... But he didn't.

Wawrinka also managed to shatter the court signage.

The two played some tremendous points, like this one with Wawrinka serving at 5-5 in the fourth set:

Wawrinka won the fourth set in a tiebreaker. To quote Brad Gilbert, "You got to get up!"

Wawrinka continued to battle, saving two match points while serving at 10-11. Here's one of those saves:
