NEW YORK -- Color is everywhere at the U.S. Open, whether it's in Roger Federer's "Atomic Red" kicks, Laura Robson's "Ultra Bright" skirt or Venus Williams' neon hair.
Coming off Wimbledon's traditional, staid and proper all-white dress code, the loud splashes of color all around Flushing Meadows are in your face, attention-grabbing and impossible to ignore. Just like New York.
Here are some of my fashion hits from the tournament. (Click here for fashion misses.)
Venus Williams: From the multicolored dress to the shocking pink hair, Venus' ensemble was a divisive one. But count me as a fan. The whole thing works. She looks like she's going to hit a punk-rock cocktail party (those things exist, right)? after her match. (Matthew Stockman/Getty Images)
Novak Djokovic: Red top, black shorts. You can't go wrong with these colorways. (Emmanuel Dunand/AFP/Getty Images)
Laura Robson: While her signature dress for Caroline Wozniacki was a bust, Stella McCartney's khaki and orange kit, which was also seen on Maria Kirilenko, was a fresh and different combination. The neon orange shoes, which could probably be seen from space, were a nice accent, too. (Dan Istitene/Getty Images)
Richard Gasquet: Lacoste doesn't stray too far from its classic designs, but this angular colorblock modernized its look. More, please. (Elsa/Getty Images)
Sloane Stephens: You'd never think that fuchsia and bright orange would get along, but Stephens makes it work. The dress photographs so well, especially under the lights. (Charles Krupa/AP)
Andy Murray: The red and black kit (see comments above) made the defending champion look sharp. And kind of intimidating. I'm just glad he ditched the slim-fit shirts he wore for the last eight months. This is a kit that will actually sell. (Emmanuel Dunand/AFP/Getty Images)
Roger Federer: Blue shirt, white shorts, standard Federer. But paired with those impossible-to-ignore shoes, I'm a fan. It's fun. (Elsa/Getty Images)
Serena Williams: Nike has really stuck to a gray/pink theme for its women this year. Serena's night dress was the best of the bunch. (Elsa/Getty Images)
Juan Martin del Potro: The Gentle Giant in pink. So meta. (Kathy Willens/AP)
Li Na: While I miss Li's standard polos -- the perfect signature look for her -- the urban pattern on this color combination is perfect for New York. (Elsa/Getty Images)
John Isner: Kathy Kmonicek
