INDIAN WELLS, Calif. -- Always the prankster, Novak Djokovic interrupted Grigor Dimitrov's post-match press conference at the BNP Paribas Open to give his friend a little ego-stroke before asking the hard-hitting questions journalists often ignore.

After defeating Robin Haase 6-4, 6-3 in the second round on Sunday, Dimitrov was just two questions into his news conference when Djokovic emerged from a nearby room where he was doing a television interview. Having already overheard some of Dimitrov's interview, Djokovic decided to pull up a chair.

"My friend Grigor here, best-looking guy on the tour," Djokovic said. "You don't need to talk about tennis too much. You had so much success this year. Let's talk about your looks."

Dimitrov didn't miss a beat.

"What do you want to know?" he said, laughing.

It was a quick moment of levity, but Djokovic couldn't leave without bringing up the subject of Dimitrov's relationship with Maria Sharapova. The two have been dating since the end of 2012 and Djokovic knows Sharapova well. In fact, she bombed his press conference two years ago at Wimbledon, so maybe this was payback time.

Djokovic wanted to know what flavor of Sugarpova was Dimitrov's favorite.

"Flirty Sour," the Bulgarian said, somehow with a straight face.
