This is the first meeting between the two teams in the tournament, but both teams are fighting for the same thing. New Jersey has already won an elimination game on Sunday, while Connecticut is coming into this game off a loss.

The team from Connecticut won its first game 3-1 over Rhode Island when it scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Unfortunately it couldn't get a second straight win on Monday when it lost 7-5 to the team from New York. Connecticut made a rally in the seventh scoring four runs, but couldn't quite get the game tied.
New Jersey lost its first game to New York 6-3 when it gave up three runs in the top of the sixth. It did bounce back on Monday, though, getting a close 3-2 win over Rhode Island.
