Wake Forest took two of three games at Duke last weekend and picked up a 12-5 win over at Liberty on Wednesday. Sophomore left-hander Sean Sullivan is scheduled to start the second game on Saturday. In four appearances and three starts this season, he is 2-1 with a 1.83 ERA and 0.66 WHIP in 19.2 innings with 39 strikeouts. Opponents are hitting just .114 off him so far.
The Irish had not settled on a starter entering the series. Jack Findlay, a reliever with five appearances, leads the team with 17 innings pitched and 25 strikeouts with a 2.65 ERA.
Tommy Hawke is slashing .478/591/.623 for the Deacons while Brock Wilken is at .357/.466/.943 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI in just 18 games. Adam Cecere slashes .393/.543./.951 and has nine homers and driven in 29 runs. Carter Putz and Jack Penney each have three long balls and 12 RBI for the Irish, who are hitting just .214 at a team.
