All five starters of North Carolina were in double figures, including Pete Nance with a team-high 28 and Caleb Love with 23 points. Armando Bacto had the only double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Iowa State fought a hard battle in a contest against Villanova in its first game. Iowa State, who is 4-0, secured a two-point win yesterday. After regulation ended in a tied, both teams went to overtime where Tamin Lipsey hit two free throws with 9.5 seconds left to secure the win.
Four players from Iowa State ended in double figures, including Gabe Kalscheur who finished with 23 points.
