In his fifth season at the school where he starred in the 1990s, Penny Hardaway is 88-45 with the Tigers.

The Cardinal trailed Florida State early but took control with a dominant second half to post a 70-60 win on Friday. Stanford was cold from long range, hitting just three-of-26, but dominated in the paint with a 44-26 scoring edge. Angel had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the way for the Cardinal.
Also on Friday, Memphis pulled away from Nebraska in the second half for a 73-61 win to reach the fifth-place game. Davis had 21 points, seven assists and three steals while DeAndre Williams added 16 points and Alex Lomax put up 13 points and four steals.
The teams have met just once previously, with the Tigers getting an 83-60 win on Nov. 24, 2000, at the Puerto Rico Shootout in San Juan.
