San Diego State dropped the third place game in Maui to then No. 9 Arkansas 78-74 in overtime. Adam Seiko hit a pair of free throws with 17 seconds left in regulation to put the Aztecs up 67-63, before the Razorbacks rallied to force overtime. Bradley scored 23 points with three steals for SDSU, while Trammell added 13 points.
At the Las Vegas Holiday Classic on Saturday, UC Irvine hammered out an 18-point halftime lead and cruised past New Mexico State 85-68 to claim the title. Davis scored 25 points and Baker added 19, while Justin Hohn came off the bench and dropped 16 points in just 16 minutes.
San Diego State leads UC Irvine in the all-time series 11-7 and has taken the last three meetings. The last time the programs met was Nov. 27, 2020 at the MGM Grand Main Event in Las Vegas with the Aztecs winning 77-58.
