The Houston Cougars take on the SMU Mustangs on Saturday afternoon looking to extend its three-game winning streak. The Cougars come into Saturday after beating Memphis, Navy and South Florida in the last three games, which has helped turn their season around. Houston had a lot of expectations coming into the season, but the Cougars sputtered and lost three of four to start the year 2-3. They have gotten back on track and are now just a game back of Tulane in the American Conference standings. They are tied in the loss column with UCF and Cincinnati, but won't play either team so they need to keep winning.

The Mustangs beat Tulsa last week 45-34, but are just 4-4 on the season. They started the year with two straight wins but lost four of five before their win against the Golden Hurricane last week.
