Nash Nienhuis and Cole Krygier scored one goal apiece in the second period to keep the game within reach after the Badgers took an early 2-0 lead. However, it wasn't enough and Wisconsin went on to score four more unanswered goals in the win.

The team picked up a 2-1 win over Michigan its last time out after tying the Wolverines 3-3 in the first game between the two. Drew Bavaro scored both goals for the Irish to elevate the team past a strong Michigan team.
When these two teams met earlier this season, Michigan State won both meetings with a 3-0 win in the first game and a 3-2 win in the second.
