The brand-new series George & Tammy is set to premiere on Sunday night on SHOWTIME. The drama series chronicles the country music power couple Tammy Wynette and George Jones, whose complicated yet enduring relationship inspired some of the most iconic music of all time. George & Tammy was directed by John Hillcoat and stars Jessica Chastain (Wynette) and Michael Shannon (Jones), as well as Katy Mixon playing the role of Jan Smith, Kelly McCormack playing Sheila Richey, Hendrix Yancey as Gwen, Steve Zahn as George Richey and Walton Goggins as Peanutt. The American drama miniseries was created by Abe Sylvia and is based on The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George by Georgette Jones.
