How to Watch Singapore Grand Prix Practice 1: Stream Formula 1 Live, TV Channel

Formula 1 returns after a three-week break with practice session No. 1, the first for Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.

After a three-week break as the circuit moved from Europe to Asia, Formula 1 drivers return to the track on Friday for the first practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix. Defending world champion Max Verstappen comes to the Marina Bay Street Circuit with five consecutive victories and a commanding 116-point lead in the driver standings over Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Verstappen could lock up his second consecutive Formula 1 title on Sunday with a win and other scenarios falling into place. The circuit returns to Singapore after a two-year absence during the pandemic. Sebastian Vettel, then with Ferrari, was the most recent winner in 2019.

Verstappen topped the podium at the Italian Grand Prix on Sept. 11, with the Red Bull racing stalwart topping Leclerc by 2.446 seconds. Mercedes' George Russell rounded out the podium with a third-place finish, 3.405 seconds back.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit is a 3.146-mile asphalt course around Marina Bay, Singapore, encompassing the Downtown Core area and Kallang. The harborside location is similar to Monaco and Valencia. Vettel's win in 2019 came by 2.641 seconds over Leclerc, with Verstappen also finishing on the podium.

It was Vettel's record fifth victory in Singapore, breaking a tie with Lewis Hamilton, who has four wins. Fernando Alonso is the only other multiple-time winner on the circuit, with victories in 2008 and 2010.
