The weekend tees off with Charley Hull (-11) two strokes ahead of the field at the Volunteers of America in The Colony, Texas. She played strong in the first round, then took over the leaderboard with an even better second round to follow that up. She is two strokes ahead of Atthaya Thitkul and Xiyu Lin, who are both tied for second place after two rounds. There are only five tournaments left on the schedule, including the season championship left after this weekend making it a massive opportunity for every golfer near the top of the leaderboard to make a play in the overall standings.

Hull climbed up the leaderboard with a second-round 64 to take a two-stroke lead over the field entering the weekend:
Through 36 holes Hull has 12 birdies, an eagle and three bogeys overall. Her eagle came on the first hole of the second round setting the tone for her day on Friday that led to her taking a two-stroke lead over the field.
Thitkul and Lin are both playing strong this week combining for 19 birdies, two eagles, two bogeys and one double-bogey (for Thitkul).
The rest of the field has Lindy Duncan three strokes back Jessica Korda, Emily Kristine Pedersen and Moriya Jutanugarn all four strokes back, all right there in the hunt to climb the leaderboard starting today.
