In game one of that doubleheader, the Royals came away with a 4-2 win. Kansas City's pitching staff put together an impressive effort, striking out eight White Sox hitters without issuing a single walk. The White Sox struck back in game two with a 3-2 win that saw them score the deciding run in the top half of the eighth inning on a Gavin Sheets double.

For the Royals, it was a big day for first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino. The rookie designated hitter went three-for-seven between the two games with two home runs and three runs driven in.

The White Sox are still chasing down a playoff spot. They're one-and-a-half games behind the Guardians and Twins, who are tied at the top of the American League Central. They're also two-and-a-half games out of the final wild-card spot.

Meanwhile, the Royals have been playing some of their best baseball over the last week. They've won four of their last six games, including taking three of four from the Red Sox over the weekend.

Regional restrictions may apply.
