Oakland, meanwhile, has lost five straight and eight of its last 10. The Athletics have the worst record in the AL but have battled the Astros closely; the teams have split their 12 meetings so far this season. Most recently, Oakland swept Houston in a three-game set in late July.
The Athletics just finished an 0-5 homestand by being swept by the Angels in a three-game series. The Astros are 5-5 in their last 10 games and haven't won consecutive games in a week.
