A night after pulling Justin Verlander after six no-hit innings, the Houston Astros ready for game two of a three-game series with the visiting Minnesota Twins, who currently sit four games behind the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners in the AL Wild Card. The Twins have lost four straight games and have not scored more than four runs in six straight games.

The Astros have won eight of their last 12 games, including five consecutive at Minute Maid Park where they have the best home record (40-18) in baseball this season. Getting the start tonight for Houston is Framber Valdez (12-4, 2.72 ERA), who is looking for his fifth win in his last six starts and is undefeated in August with a 2.21 ERA over 20.1 innings.

Valdez has gone deep into his starts, pitching at least six innings in 20 consecutive appearances.

Dylan Bundy (7-5, 4.60 ERA) goes for his second straight win after allowing only two hits and one earned run over 5.1 inning against the Rangers last week. Today’s start will be his first of the season against the Astros.

The Twins have dropped three straight games away from Target Field. Their last road win was August 12 against the Angels.

Tonight’s game is the fifth of the season between the two teams, with the Astros winning each of the four previous games by a combined score of 25-5.
