It will be the first game of a three-game weekend series at Great American Ballpark. This will be the final series of what has been a 10-game road trip for the Rockies, who also faced the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves. This will be the second series of the year between these two teams. They first met back in late April in Colorado. The Rockies swept that series with wins of 10-4, 4-3, and 10-1.
Lefty Kyle Freeland will get the start for the Rockies in this one. He also started the series finale of that three-game set in the spring. In that game he threw seven innings allowing just four hits and one run.
