How to Watch Pirates at Mets: Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The New York Mets go for the four-game series sweep against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The New York Mets just won't quit. It was looking bleak earlier for New York. They lost the NL East lead for the first time all season to the Atlanta Braves. They got the lead back but then got swept by the Chicago Cubs who have already been eliminated from the playoffs. This series against the Pirates though has been heaven-sent. While the Braves have continued to win this weekend against Philadelphia, the Mets haven't backed down and have won against Pittsburgh three games in a row. They'll go for the four-game series sweep here in the finale.

New York won handily on Saturday by a score of 5-1. Chris Bassitt pitched phenomenally with six shutout innings and eight strikeouts to earn his 14th win. The Mets got all the offense they needed early from third baseman Eduardo Escobar when the third baseman hit a three-run dinger in the second.

The Mets will be heavily favored to earn the series sweep and that is because Jacob deGrom. The Mets did lose the last game he pitched against the Cubs but he only gave up three runs. He has a 4-1 record and 2.05 ERA at home. Overall he is 5-2 with a 2.01 ERA. The Pirates will counter with Johan Oviedo who is 3-2 with a 3.34 ERA. We should see a great pitcher's duel regardless but will we see the Pirates defying the odds and avoiding the sweep?
