The Cleveland Guardian meet the Chicago White Sox on Thursday with their magic number to clinch the AL Central down to seven games.

The Cleveland Guardians (82-67) cut their magic number to clinch the American League Central to seven games after beating the Chicago White Sox (76-73) for the second straight night and can complete a series sweep and take two more off that number on Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox entered the series four games behind Cleveland with a chance to cut the deficit to just one game with a sweep. Instead, it is Chicago on the verge of being swept and the Guardians have taken control of the divisional race. The White Sox are five-and-a-half games behind Seattle for the third wild-card spot, as well.
