The Guardians have the worst record in the Cactus League even after winning two straight. On Monday, Cleveland visits the Texas Rangers (11-12) at Surprise Stadium. Texas has also won two straight and will give the ball to right-hander Dane Dunning, who is 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA and 0.975 WHIP in 13.1 innings this spring. Cleveland is giving a second start to 24-year-old right-hander Hunter Gaddis, who has a 2.89 ERA and 1.071 WHIP in 9.1 innings over four appearances in Arizona.

The Guardians pushed across three runs in the seventh inning on Sunday to beat the Rockies 3-1 at Goodyear Ballpark. Trailing 1-0 entering the frame, Cleveland tied the game when Roman Quinn was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and went ahead one out later on Richie Palacios' two-run single. Shane Bieber turned in a strong outing, working seven innings and allowing a run on four hits.
The Rangers got an RBI single from Nathaniel Lowe in the first and Josh Jung smacked his third homer of the spring in the fourth in a 4-1 win over the Mariners in Surprise on Sunday. Free-agent signing Jacob deGrom made his delayed spring debut and worked three scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
Texas is still dealing with injuries in the rotation, however, as veteran Jake Odorizzi is not expected to be ready for opening day and Glenn Otto is scheduled for an MRI on his injured right lat muscle.
