The first win was against the Yankees and in this second game, Baltimore held Pittsburgh to five hits. Vince Velasquez had a rough outing going four innings while giving up seven runs. The Orioles scored five in the first two innings. Pittsburgh is hoping for a rebound while starting Luis Ortiz today. In his first appearance, Ortiz pitched two shutout innings against Baltimore but struggled in his last game against the Yankees giving up five runs in one inning. Both Ortiz and the Pirates would benefit from a bounceback.
Boston is coming off a 9-5 win against the Phillies. Boston was down 5-2 in the fifth but took complete control of the second half of the game starting with a four-run sixth highlighted by a Greg Allen grand slam. Just for good measure, the Red Sox tacked on three in the ninth for good measure. Righty Garrett Whitlock will get the start today for his first of the spring. He only has one other appearance and he went two scoreless innings with three strikeouts against Tampa Bay.
