The Cleveland Guardians open a four-game series against the first place Minnesota Twins on Thursday.

Off back-to-back series wins, the Cleveland Guardians continue their road trip Thursday with a four-game series against the American League Central Division leading Minnesota Twins. The Twins have alternated wins and losses over their last eight games, seeing their lead in the division drop to just two games over Detroit. Thursday they look for their first winning streak since taking the last two games of a three-game series from the Chicago Cubs in mid-May. Minnesota will start 27-year-old Pablo Lopez (3-3, 4.11 ERA) in his first ever appearance against Cleveland, as he goes for his second win in as many starts.

Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez leads the team with a .277 batting average and has ten hits in his last six games, including three hits, an RBI and a pair of runs scored in Wednesday's 12-8 win at Baltimore.

The Twins pitching staff has recorded the most strikeouts of any team in MLB with 522 through their first 55 games.
