Update: This race has been posted and is now starting on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. on CNBC.

While NASCAR Cup Series stalwarts Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and points leader Chase Elliott will garner a lot of attention in tonight’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona Motor Speedway, the race for the 15th and 16th spots is the biggest race of all. With fourteen race winners already securing their spots into the postseason only two spots remain. Currently, Ryan Blaney and Martin Truex Jr. would earn those spots based on the points standings, but there's a host of drivers who could win their way into the playoffs with a victory, which would also push one of Blaney and Truex out.

Last year, Blaney outlasted Bubba Wallace in overtime for his seventh career victory despite only leading seven laps on the day. Blaney started the day in sixth place and finished Stage One outside the top ten but battled back to take the lead with just two laps to go.

The playoff scenario is this; If a driver notches his first Cup Series win of the season at Daytona, then he locks into the playoffs provided the rest of the criteria are met—that he is ranked 30th or better in the regular-season standings and has attempted to start all 26 Cup Series regular-season races.

If there’s a new winner at Daytona that fits those qualifications, that winner would get one of the two remaining playoff spots. The final entrant would be either Blaney or Truex Jr. based on points. Blaney sits 25 points ahead of Truex with one race to go.

Blaney starts the day in 16th, while Truex, Jr. is in 13th to begin today’s 160-lap race.

Last week’s winner at Watkins Glen, Kyle Larson, will start on the pole.

Regional restrictions may apply.
