Ty Gibbs looks to repeat as the race for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs heats up in Kansas

With just two races left before the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs start, the battle to enter the Round of 12 is coming down to the wire as drivers face off for 200 laps at Kansas Speedway. Ty Gibbs goes for his second straight win at this event looking to join Joey Logano, Brandon Jones, and Kyle Busch as the only two-time winners at Kansas. Ryan Sieg currently holds a 16-point lead over rookie Sheldon Creed for the final Playoff spot. Creed has four top ten finishes in the last six races to narrow the gap for the final spot.

Brandon Jones has two wins here at Kansas having won in 2019 and 2020 and will begin today on the pole for the second week in a row. In both wins, Jones led only 10 laps in each race. His victory at Kansas in 2019 was his first in the Xfinity Series and in the 2020 race, Jones overtook Austin Cindric on the final lap to secure the second of three wins that season.

The first three rows consists solely of Playoff bound drivers as Gibbs, Creed, AJ Allmendinger, Noah Gragson and Austin Hill will take the green flag up front.

Ryan Vargas crashed in practice and will move to the back of the pack, starting in a backup car in 36th.

Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota have 11 wins at Kansas winning in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013 - 2017, 2019 – 2021.
