The Celtics were eliminated in the semifinals of the recent Winter Showcase after putting together an 11-7 record leading up to the event. The Vipers were knocked off in the quarterfinals after going 13-5 in their regional pod. Maine is the G League affiliate of the Boston Celtics while the Vipers are affiliated with the Houston Rockets.

The Celtics ran away with a 118-98 win on Friday night, taking control with a big second quarter and never looking back. Luka Šamanić, the 2019 first-round pick of the Spurs, erupted for 28 points and 18 rebounds for Maine while Marial Shayok added 17 points and six assists.
Darius Days led RGV with 21 points and 12 rebounds, with Trevor Hudgins dropping 19 points.
The Vipers opened their regular-season slate on Tuesday with a 138-99 blowout win at Delaware while Maine got restarted with a 126-113 win at Fort Wayne the same night.
