In its preseason debut, Los Angeles got five points, three assists and two rebounds from Westbrook as it looked good in the first half.
Last season, Los Angeles only had their All-Star trio on the court for 21 games, going 11-10 in those games. The three of them have to be great every night for Los Angeles to be competitive, which is the challenge that Darvin Ham accepted when he took over as the head coach this summer.
For Phoenix, the Suns are mostly the same with Paul, Booker, Deandre Ayton, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson, but will be without Jae Crowder unless they can figure out a way to bring him back.
Phoenix has had the best combined record in the NBA over the past two seasons under head coach Monty Williams. The Suns will look to continue that success starting today in the preseason.
