The Rams are entering the 2022 season as the defending champs and looking to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since the Patriots did it in 2004 and 2005.

The Chargers, on the other hand, are looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2018. They just missed out on making the playoffs in 2021 when they lost their last game of the year in overtime to the Raiders.
The Rams went out and got Matthew Stafford to be their quarterback last year and it immediately paid off for them as they won the whole thing. They hope it can happen again, but Stafford is experiencing some elbow discomfort that will be a big story as the season starts.
The Chargers enter their third season with Justin Herbert under center and are hoping he can finally lead them back to the playoffs. Herbert has been fantastic for the Chargers so far and all signs are pointing up for the other team from Los Angeles.
