How to Watch Bruins at Flyers: Stream NHL Live, TV Channel

The Boston Bruins head to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers in their sixth preseason game.

Thank the hockey gods from the great white north, the NHL is back and a prime preseason matchup starts tonight between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers. Philly is trying to move on from last season. Last year was supposed to be an improvement on the 2020-21 season where they missed the playoffs after a nice run the year before. Instead, they were even worse and had one of the worst records in the league. It was the first time since 1994 that the Flyers missed the playoffs in back-to-back years.

This may be another rebuilding year but they had the fifth overall pick in the June draft where they selected left winger Cutter Gauthier. The Flyers announced today that they will be shorthanded likely for the rest of the season, announcing that defenseman Ryan Ellis, who they got in a trade with Nashville last year, will be out indefinitely with a torn muscle in his back. Ellis was only able to play four games last season so this is disappointing news for the Flyers faithful.

Boston meanwhile did make the playoffs last season but went out in seven games against Carolina. This season will look very different for the Bruins with the announcement of the retirement of legendary captain Zdeno Chara after 14 seasons in Boston. This sixth preseason game for Boston will be a great opportunity to see who steps up in this young squad to fill the leadership role of Chara. What will this club look like with an end of an era seemingly coming to a close?

Regional restrictions may apply.
