Seattle took the first preseason game in a very competitive game as the teams look to get their legs underneath them leading to opening night in just a few weeks. Last season Vancouver finished just outside of the playoffs in the Western Conference as they start their journey to get back to the playoffs this season starting today.

Seattle defeated Vancouver in their first preseason game 4-3 to get their season off to a strong start with a win:
In that first preseason game, Vancouver got off to an incredible start with a 3-1 in the first period in what looked like what was going to be a massive blowout.
Then, Seattle took over shutting out Vancouver for the final two periods scoring two goals to force overtime, then winning with a goal from Ryan Donato to seal the win for the infant franchise.
If that game is any indication of this game today, it could be a preseason classic and set the table for Seattle to have a terrific, bounce-back season in year two of the franchise. The first season did not lead to immediate success, but they are building on that for something special long term.
