A pair of spots in the U.S. team are on the line at the U.S. championships, senior men’s gymnastics event today.

There is a lot on the line for the men’s senior gymnasts this weekend with two spots on the U.S. Team on the line today in Tampa, Florida. The winner of the men’s all-around event and the runner-up will make the team and have the opportunity to continue their run to the international events and potentially the Olympics. Defending U.S. all-around champion Brody Malone will be in action today. He finished 10th at the Olympics in Tokyo and received a bronze medal at the world championships. He is one to watch here today as the entire men’s field looks to make an impact on the mat.

Fred Richard looks to qualify for the U.S. team here today with his performances as the gymnast has been one of the best in the country over the years building up to this weekend.

Aside from Malone and Richard, there are several great young and experienced gymnasts to keep an eye on today.

Paul Juda has a win over Malone in college at the NCAA championships and looks to repeat that and make the U.S. team. The Michigan Wolverine junior isn’t slated to compete here today but is a looming talent for the future.

Colt Walker, a Stanford Cardinal teammate of Malone, will also be a wildcard here this weekend along with Olympians Yul Moldauer and Shane Wiskus.

Individual event specialists Alec Yoder, Alex Diab, Eddie Penev and Curran Phillips are all in action as well.

One last name to watch is Donnell Whittenburg, who has broken the age norms as a gymnast. He broke onto the stage in 2014 and is still a major contender here today and one of the best stories in the field.
