The best collegiate athletes come together for the Olympics of College in the 2023 FISU Winter World University Games this week.
In speed skating, the racers can achieve speeds of as high as 40 miles per hour, racing counterclockwise on a 400-meter oval track.
Over the course of the 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, there will be competitions in 500 meters, 1,000m, 1,500m, 3,000m, 5,000m, as well as in Mass Start, Team Pursuit and Mixed Team Relay.
