It has been a busy couple of weeks for a handful of Canadian Premier League teams, as they add CONCACAF games to their usual CPL schedule. On Saturday, Pacific FC (10-5-4) returns to league play to take on HFX Wanderers FC (6-3-11) in Halifax. Pacific defeated Jamaican club Waterhouse FC in its first round matchup, winning the second leg 6-0 after a 0-0 draw to start. They're now facing CS Herediano out of Costa Rica in the round of 16. The Wanderers had a mid-week match in CPL action against Atletico Ottawa. It was a high-scoring affair, but Ottawa came out on top 3-2.

This will be the third meeting between these two clubs this season. Pacific won the first matchup on April 23. Forward Alejandro Díaz Liceága scored the game-winner in that one on a penalty shot in the 85th minute. Díaz Liceága currently leads the league with 13 goals scored.
The teams then met again on June 25. It was HFX coming away with the win in that one in a 3-0 shutout. Mour Samb, Aidan Daniels, and Samuel Salter all scored for the Wanderers.
