Clinging to a narrow two-point lead for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Canadian Premier League postseason, Pacific FC starts September hosting York United for the final time this season. The defending champions are unbeaten in three meetings against York this season having won at York Lions Stadium in July coupled with a pair of draws both home and away. York comes into tonight winners of three of its last five matches, but trailing Pacific by 12 points with six matches to play, might be destined to play the role of spoiler.

Pacific has entered a bit of a scoring slump, netting only one goal in its last three matches, losing two of those to HFX and Valour in shutout fashion. This scoreless streak comes on the heels of five consecutive matches where Pacific had scored at least two goals, going unbeaten in all five.
Part of the scoring drought could point to forward Alejandro Diaz who transferred to Norwegian side Sogndal in early August. Despite being gone for almost a month, Diaz still leads the CPL with 13 goals.
York is paced by attacker Osaze De Rosario, whose nine goals leads the Nine Stripes. The 21-year-old forward is the sun of former Canadian National Team player Dwayne De Rosario.
York leads the all-time series over Pacific 5-3-5 despite only one win it the last six matches in this series.
