The win was the first for the expansion club away from home and the first of three road wins in 2022.
Angel City goalkeeper DiDi Haračić ranks third in the NWSL with 82 saves and has four clean sheets this season.
Washington is looking for its first away points since a 1-1 draw at Racing Louisville in early August. The six goals scored in its last two matches marked the first time the Spirit had netted two or more goals since a three-match string that ended in early July.
The reigning NWSL champions are in danger of missing the playoffs with just three games remaining, needing to win out to secure a spot in the postseason.
