How to Watch Marseille vs AS Monaco: Stream Ligue 1 Live, TV Channel

A showdown between French giants will see Monaco look to wrest points from Marseille on Saturday

Top-four contenders Marseille and Monaco meet on Saturday with visions of solidifying their status among Ligue 1’s European qualifications places. Marseille enters the match in third and five points ahead of Les Monégasques, meaning even a win at the Stade Orange Velodrome wouldn’t be enough to lift Monaco from fourth. Philippe Clemente’s men will be motivated to seal back-to-back wins in Marseille, however, after the Belgian boss helped his side end a five-year winless run at the Velodrome in early 2022 and with the chance to make up some valuable ground on the Champions League spots.

Gelson Martins provided the sole finish when Monaco masterminded a 1-0 win the last time they made the trip southwest to Marseille.

Les Olympiens have since fired back in kind, however, and topped a five-goal thriller when they visited the French Riviera in November, coming from 2-1 behind to snatch a 3-2 victory in the dying minutes:

While Igor Tudor’s side cannot fall regardless of Saturday’s result, they can most definitely climb into second provided they take all three points against Marseille while Lens dropped points at Troyes.

Former Croatia defender Tudor has only shown signs of improvement since a mid-season wobble saw Marseille go five matches without a win and exit the Champions League group stages.

Fast-forward to today and his side is the form outfit in France’s top flight, having won its past eight games across all competitions and conceding only two goals across the spell. That includes advancing to the last 16 of the Coupe de France, having bested Rennes 1-0 in the club’s most recent outing.

Monaco, meanwhile, was dumped out of the cup competition by second-tier Rodez, losing on penalties after the two teams drew 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

That being said, Clement’s clan remains unbeaten in four league fixtures and most recently hammered relegation candidate Ajaccio 7-1 at home.

However, they now face the last team to have collected a win over them, and in enemy territory no less, with each outfit having secured three wins apiece from their last six encounters.

Regional restrictions may apply.
