The first round of the 2022 U.S. Open gets started with Daniil Medvedev in action today.

The final major on the tennis calendar gets started from New York at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2022 U.S. Open is the last opportunity for the men’s and women’s, singles and doubles talents, to get a huge win this season. In the morning session, there are 17 singles matches for the men's and women’s draws, followed by 44 more in the afternoon before the action switches over to ESPN2 for the nightcap matches. The big names in the morning feature Daniil Medvedev and Felix Auger-Aliassime for the men with Maria Sakkari and Coco Gauff for the women today.

Medvedev starts his title defense at the 2022 U.S. Open after being the spoiler against Novak Djokovic in the 2021 finals last year:

The day gets started with nine matches for the men all starting at the same time, highlighted by former world’s number one ranked Andy Murray taking on Francisco Cerúndolo in Louis Armstrong Stadium and Tommy Paul in action.

For the women, Sakkari starts off the tournament against Tatjana Maria in one of six matches in the early morning.

Doubles action does not get started until Wednesday this week for both the men’s and women’s draws, with mixed doubles on Sunday. The action will continue on ESPN2 at 5 pm EST with four more matches all featuring one of the best players in the world.
