TORONTO (AP) Denmark's under-20 team won for first time at the World Junior Championship, beating Switzerland 4-3 in a shootout Tuesday.

At Montreal, Slovakia beat Germany 5-2 in Group A play. Canada and the United States have already secured the top two spots in the quarterfinals from Group A. The North American rivals play Wednesday night in their final games of the round-robin phase.

Denmark had lost all 15 games it has played in this tournament, six each in 2008 and `12 and three this year before Nikolaj Ehlers and Oliver Bjorkstrand scored in the shootout to secure the win.

Denmark could advance to the quarterfinals if Russia beats the Czech Republic and Sweden tops Switzerland in Group B.
