ARE, Sweden (AP) Jean-Frederic Chapuis of France earned his first freestyle World Cup victory of the season by winning a skicross race on Sunday, while Anna Holmlund of Sweden climbed atop the podium for the first time since 2011.

Chapuis improved on Saturday's second-place finish by beating Alex Fiva and Paul Eckert in the men's final. Fiva was second while Eckert earned his first World Cup podium by coming third.

In the women's race, Holmlund finished ahead of Andrea Zemanova of the Czech Republic and Andrea Limbacher of Austria. Holmlund won the skicross crystal globe in 2011 but has since struggled to overcome a series of knee injuries.

She said ''I've been waiting for this moment since 2011.''
