AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Baylor's Trayvon Bromell, who set a Texas Relays record in the men's 100 last year as a freshman, ran a world-leading 10.2 seconds in Friday's preliminaries to set up another potential record run in the final.

Running into a slight head-wind, the reigning NCAA champion barely missed his meet record of 10.01. He dominated the field in posting the fourth-fastest time in his college career, winning his heat by .38 seconds. The next-fastest qualifier over 12 heats was .2 seconds slower than Bromell. The 100 final is Saturday.

Texas A&M's Latario Collie won the men's triple jump with a mark of 54 feet, 8 3/4 inches. Louisiana State freshman Rodney Brown won the men's discus with a throw of 209-8.

Texas sophomore Fabian Dohmann won the men's javelin at 232-6.
