In this photo by Andy Wong, Cuba's Yarisley Silva celebrates as she makes a clearance on her way to winning the gold medal in the women's pole vault final at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing on Wednesday. The silver medalist at the London Olympics, Silva cleared 4.90 meters on her third attempt to secure her first world championship. Fabiana Murer of Brazil claimed silver and Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou of Greece bronze.
