Holcomb, Meyers Taylor head US bobsled national team

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) Three-time Olympic medalist Steven Holcomb heads a roster of 23 athletes selected to the U.S. bobsled team for the upcoming sliding season.

Two-time Olympian Nick Cunningham and Codie Bascue join Holcomb as pilots of the U.S. men's sleds. Two-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor, Olympic bronze medalist Jamie Greubel Poser, and Nicole Vogt will pilot the women's sleds.

Men's push athletes include Adrian Adams, James Reed, Carlo Valdes, Casey Wickline, and Sam Michener, who earned their second career national team berths. Nic Taylor rejoins the team after a brief hiatus from the sport.

Rookie athletes include Hakeem Adbul-Saboor, Frank Del Duca, Nathan Gilsleider, Austin Landis, Sam McGuffie, and Evan Weinstock.

The team was selected after a series of races at Mount Van Hoevenberg outside Lake Placid.
